Horizon Campus with their dedication to broaden opportunities in the field of higher education, recently signed an MoU with Lyceum Academy for Teacher Education for the BE.d, ECE and future MEd Programmes.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Kumari Grero, Directress of Lyceum Group of Companies and Upul Daranagama, Chairman of Horizon Group of Companies.

The MoU is effective for a period of two years and encourages the joint development of new programs, promoting research partnerships and in building expertise and knowledge of students and equipping them with the skills necessary to enable them to compete successfully in the fast evolving and dynamic education industry.

Apart from the Bachelor of Education degrees available at Campus, Horizon campus has recently launched the Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from Asia e University, Malaysia, as well as in the process of commencing the Master of education programme from the same University.

The ECE degree is a three year Honours degree programme, which fills a void in the market and will accommodate students with accepted Diploma qualifications into the degree programme, on a lateral entry route.

Upul Daranagama said,” today institutes must become more nimble, entrepreneurial, student-focused and accountable for what students learn. As such this MoU will provide students the chance to study for a degree that is both comprehensive whilst being futuristic.

This in turn will give them a host of opportunities in the field of education.

This new venture between Horizon and Lyceum that connects two renowned institutes of learning, could be considered a precursor to more enterprising and innovative areas in education that the discerning public in the country can look forward to.
