Lumbini Rugby, Netball toruney in UAE

Forward Ever-Old Lumbini International Rugby Union has organized an international Rugby and Netball event in the UAE on march 15 in Sharjah. The event is organized by Old Lumbini International Rugby Union to celebrate the 90th anniversary of their alma mater- Lumbini College, Colombo-05.

Major events taking place will be:

RUGBY:

l Inter-School Tournament: for teams led by Old boys’ Unions based in UAE.

l International Tournament: open format for any nationality

l Junior Rugby Tournament: for school children

NETBALL: Ladies’ teams from UAE and Sri Lanka

Forward Ever founder Kelum Sujith got this brilliant idea of celebrating the 90th Anniversary of his school thereby bringing international recognition and glory to it and Sri Lanka.

Forward Ever has gradually become a strong Old Boys’ Union in UAE over the past few years by emerging victorious at prominent sports events including Rugby, Football and Cricket under the leadership of it’s Founder Kelum Sujith. Its sole intention is upholding the Sri Lankan sports community based in UAE and enhancing the skill set of Sri Lankan players internationally by working in collaboration with other old boys’ unions as well.

The overall event has been designed to acquire participation from Rugby enthusiasts by having an International Tournament as well including the teams from the UK, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and International clubs.

It is expected that this tournament will be a valuable exposure with an immense advantage for Rugby players who are seeking for career development in Rugby. A crowd of more than 1200 people are expected to gather for this event so that this will be a great opportunity for all the Sri Lankans to come and enjoy.
