Trinity-Antonian one-day match in the balance

The 39th one-day cricket encounter between Trinity College and St. Anthony’s College, played for the Richard Aluwihare trophy is in the balance following an incident that took place during their Big Match on Saturday where the Trinity College captain Pubudu Bandara was injured when supporters of both schools rushed in as soon as the first innings ended.

Bandara was later admitted to hospital for treatment. Trinity it is learnt will decide on Tuesday whether to go ahead with the one-day match scheduled to be played at Asgiriya on March 16. Trinity lead the series with 18 wins to Antonians’ 17 with 1 tied and 2 ending in no-results. Trinity are the present holders of the trophy.
