Investigations into PS Chairman’s alleged attack

Habarana Police initiated investigations into an incident in which the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) Chairman and three others had allegedly damaged the property of a businessman and his wife while using abusive language in Habarana.

According to Police, the PS Chairman had come with three others under the influence of liquor and ordered a packet of fried rice from the restaurant.

The owner of the restaurant, in his complaint at the Habarana Police, said that his wife had received injuries during the attack.

According to Police, the PS Chairman had first asked for a snack. When he was informed by the restaurant staff that they did not have snacks, he had ordered two packets of fried rice. Then, he had left the place with one packet without paying.

The Police said the owner had given the other packet of rice to another customer. Later, the suspect had damaged the property.
