Navy pre-treats plastic for recycling

As a sustainable solution to waste disposal, the Marine Conservation and Monitoring Unit of Sri Lanka Navy has introduced a new method of plastic recycling.

A pre-treatment machine for plastic recycling was opened at SLNS Gajaba in the North Central Naval Command with the financial assistance of Eco Spindle, recently. The waste plastic collected all over the Command is pre-treated for recycling by this machine and provided to recycling entrepreneurs.

Further, a one-day workshop on operating this machine conducted by Eco Spindle was attended by a group of senior sailors attached to naval establishments in the North Central Naval Command.
