Senior poet P.M. Kalanderlebbe (Asukavi Anpudeen) was felicitated by the Asukavi Ilakkiya Ponvila Manram for 50th anniversary in the field of literary, recently.
The event was held at the Al-Zakki Reception Hall, Addalaichenai under the patronage of Asukavi Ilakkiya Ponvila Manram President M. Siraj Ahamed.
City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education Minister Rauff Hakeem was the chief guest at the event.
Parliamentarian A.L.M. Nazeer, National Congress (NC) Leader A.L.M. Athaulla, Eastern Province Chief Ministry’s Secretary U.L.A. Azees, former Eastern Province Minister M.S. Udumalebbe, Former Eastern Provincial Councillor Aariff Samsudeen, Vavuniya District Secretary I.M. Haniffa, Deputy Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Leader S.M.A. Gaffoor, Addalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman A.L. Amanullah, Addalaichenai Divisional Secretary J. Liyakath Ali, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SEUSL) Professor Ramees Abdullah, and veteran writer Uma Varatharajan were also present.
A special souvenir called the Sitpam Sethukkiya Sitpi was also handed to Anpudeen at the event.
