Jaffna University students stage protest walk

Jaffna University students yesterday staged a protest walk demanding the United Nations Human Rights Council to conduct an investigations into war crimes that have allegedly taken place in the country during the final phase of war on terrorism.

The university students carrying posters with Eelam maps, cutouts depicting pictures of war ravaged areas in the North shouted slogans that they do not have any confidence with government.

They said that independent investigations should be carried out by a third party to ensure justice to them.
