National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka (NHRDC) together with Eastern University of Sri Lanka (EUSL), Australian Aid, YouLead, Chamber of Commerce, Berendina, Man Power Department, Tertiary and Vocational Educational Commission (TVEC) and Batticaloa District Secretariat organized a career fair and a career motivational programme recently at the University premises.
The invitees of the programme included undergraduates and school leavers. More than 2,000 participants attended the programme. The focus was to reduce the unemployment number and facilitate job-seekers to find work according to skills, talents and employers had a chance to meet one another, establish professional relationships, and discuss potential job and/or internship opportunities.
The programme included a career motivational programme at the university auditorium followed by a career fair at the University grounds. A New Graduate Profiles was launched in EUSL web site during the programme by the Vice Chancellor Prof. F.C Ragel, Dr. A. Andrew of EUSL and Assistant Director S. Thanigaseelan, (NHRDC). A career Assessment Test was conducted at the computer laboratory of the University with the support of You Lead Sri Lanka to help the undergraduates and job seekers in discovering the required capabilities they need in applying for an employment. The guest speeches were delivered by Professor F.C Ragel, the Vice Chancellor of the Eastern University Sri Lanka and S.T Seelan, Assistant Director (Research) of National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka.
