Samsung wins ‘People’s Youth Choice Brand of the Year’

Samsung, one of Sri Lanka’s largest smartphones and consumer electronics brand has been awarded People’s Youth Choice Brand of the Year at the recently concluded SLIM Nielson People’s Awards held at Waters Edge.

This is the second consecutive year that Samsung has become People’s Youth Choice Brand of the year while also being nominated in the categories of SLIM Nielsen People’s Brand of the year and SLIM Nielsen People’s Durable brand of the year.

The South Korean conglomerate has illustrated unwavering consistency maintaining its dominance. Samsung continues to display its determined supremacy due to its innovative products coupled with aggressive marketing initiatives, which have contributed to the brand’s success in Sri Lanka and worldwide. Samsung began its journey in Sri Lanka in 2010, and in over a decade, it has grown into one of the country’s biggest consumer product companies.

Commenting on the occasion, HanBae Park Managing Director, Samsung Sri Lanka, said, “We are truly humbled to receive these awards for the second consecutive year because it truly underscores the fact that Samsung holds a big appeal to Millennials who clearly have high aspirations for their lifestyle.”

SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards are organized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, the national body for marketing in Sri Lanka, in association with Nielsen Company, probably the largest marketing research company in the world. These awards reach out to masses to learn their favorite brand which is what makes these awards truly special as they reflect the customer’s choice.
