Bioclad hygienic PVC wall cladding systems and hygienic wall panels used throughout the UK’s food, retail, catering, prison, educational and leisure industries is now penetrating the Sri Lankan market.

“The response we got in Sri Lanka is very good,” Dr Selva Annamalai, Medical and Scientific advisor, BioClad said while addressing the media in Colombo recently.

He said the other areas that they approached apart from hospitals included the ITC Group of hotels coming up in Galle Face next to Shangri-La and a couple of new pharmaceutical factories had also shown interest in their BioClad hygienic PVC wall cladding systems and hygienic wall panels. He said they have also approached the Sri Lankan health authorities and shown them the benefits of the product. Dr Annamalai expressed optimism that the health ministry will take up their products for local hospitals.

There has been a lot of interest from different parties and the potential is quite exciting in Sri Lanka, opined, Andy Newbould, Sales Director, BioClad. He said they planned to move from healthcare to pharmaceuticals as they were aware of the pharmaceutical requirements in Sri Lanka and the growing investments in that sector and were also eying the food and beverage sector in Sri Lanka.

Jananam was the first Hospital in Sri Lanka to utilise the ‘antimicrobial bubble’ effect by having BioClad for walls and ceilings installed with BioFloor for all clinical areas of the clinic and now Hemas Hospital Wattala has acquired it. BioClad has also been acquired by Asiri Group of Hospitals.
