Police Sports Club scored a stunning 28 points (3 tries, 2 conversions, 3 penalties) to 15 (3 tries) win over a spirited CR & FC team in their Dialog Inter Club ‘A’ Division Clifford cup knock out rugby tournament first quarter final match played at Race Course grounds in Colombo yesterday.
Police SC led 20 points to 5 at half time.
For the winning Police Sports Club out fit the three tries were scored by full back Sachith Silva (one) , centre Vihanga Pivithuru (one) and scrum half Suranga Kasun (one), while the two conversions and the three penalties were fired across by fly half Janith Chandimal.
For the losing CR & FC team their three tries were scored by wing three quarter Reeza Rafaideen, hooker Supun Warnakulasuriya and number eight Omalka Gunaratne one apiece.
