Beliatta Pradeshiya Sabha Opposition Leader, Kapila Priyadarshana was hospitalised with gun shot injuries last morning.
He has been admitted to Tangalle Base hospital after his mother saw him injured and bleeding at his residence at Pallaththara in Beliatta around 7.00 a.m yesterday.
He was later transferred to the Karapitiya General Hospital. Police began investigations into the incident after hospital staff informed about the incident to the Tangalle police station. Beliatta police had found two live ammunition used for a shotgun under the blood soaked mattress in his bed room.
Preliminary police investigations revealed, the doors and the windows of his house had been kept closed when the incident occurred.
Beliatta police are investigating.
