Body found in forest reserve

A body of a man was found from the forest reserve of Kuuriyankumura in Udayaaya on Wednesday, police said.

The deceased was identified as 32-year-old Balawatbandarlage Dayananda of Udayaaya, Kandegama, Rideemaaliyadda.

His wife said at the inquest that her husband left home for the jungle on Tuesday (26) evening. As he did not return as usual, she had gone to the jungle in search of him along with villagers. They found his body in the jungle. His left leg had a gunshot wound. Police said a trap gunshot may have caused the wound.

Rideemaaliyadda police are investigating.
