The CID yesterday arrested Mannar ASP U.D.Alawatta in connection with the disappearance of a detainee in 2008, when he was OIC at the Piliyandala Police.
The CID summoned him at 9.30 a.m. yesterday to record statement over the incident and arrested him at around 9 pm.
He will be produced before Kesbewa Magistrate today.
He is alleged to have kidnapped a person in Madapatha and detained him for three days.
