Navy holds 18 Indian fishermen

Navy personnel nabbed 18 Indian fishermen for fishing in Northern territorial waters of Sri Lanka yesterday.

They were caught in the seas 16 nautical miles west of lighthouse-Point Pedro during a naval patrol. Three dhows were seized.

The fishermen and dhows were brought to SLNS Uthtara in Jaffna. After a medical check-up, they will be handed over to the Assistant Director of Fisheries-Jaffna.
