The 49th RS Steel Samagi Papedi Savariya organized by Samagi Sports Club, Wellabada, Boossa will be held from Wellabada Junction at 8.00 am on April 7.
Samagi Sports Club in collaboration with Sri Lanka Cycling Federation has organized this race and RS Steel (Pvt) Ltd joined hands as the main sponsor. The race will be conducted under the rules of Sri Lanka Cycling Federation and international standards.
The race will start from Wellabada junction to Ambalangoda town and turn again to Matara via Galle. The race will be back to Wellabada junction along Galle Road and it will cover a total of 160 kilometres. Over 150 riders are expected to take part in the race and Sri Lanka Cycling Federation have included the event in their annual calendar.
The champion will be offered a Rs. 200,000 cash prize while first runner-up and second runner-up will receive Rs. 175,000 and Rs. 150,000 respectively. Those who are placed from fourth to tenth will receive Rs. 50,000, Rs. 35,000, Rs. 30,000, Rs. 25,000, Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively, while those who finish between 11th to 20th will get Rs. 5,000 each. The Best Sprinter will be offered Rs. 10,000.
