‘SPC outlets buying drugs imported by private sector’

A number of outlets of the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation in the Hambantota district are purchasing drugs imported by the private sector, several patients had complained recently.

They said it contradicted the purpose of a state institution, which was supposed to manufacture or import drugs themselves.

They had complained to the authorities that pharmacists at SPC outlets were giving prescriptions that bore the drug prices of the private sector.
