Badulla MC urged to demolish illegal structures

The Badulla Municipal Council (MC) should demolish unauthorized structures in the area as a warning for those who build structures at their own will, residents in the area said.

The MC members have reportedly received many complaints from the public in this regard. The businesspersons in Badulla lament that their businesses are at risk since many traders under illegal structures sell goods day and night.

These vendors have no permits from the local council, the businesspersons claimed.

An official from the MC said the mayor and the councillors will come up with an effective plan to resolve the issues.
