Panadura PS heated over road name boards

UNP Councillors of the Panadura Pradeseeya Sabha (PS) protested over the statement by its Chairman Waduge Hemantha Fernando, while he was addressing the Sabha monthly meeting on April 10 on road name boards in the area. The Chairman said his name must be displayed on a board after the repairs of roads were carried out under the Gamperaliya program in Panadura.

The UNP Councillors led by Opposition leader Thaheer Fazie opposed the proposal. They said their government allocated the funds to repair the roads in Panadura under the Gamperaliya programme. They questioned why Chairman's name and the names of the Sri Lanka Podu Peramuna Councillors should be displayed on road name boards instead of theirs.
