A suspect was nabbed, while he was transporting 349 conches in a cab in Silawathura on Thursday, Silawathura police said.
He was arrested on a tip-off by Navy personnel and Police Intelligent Unit officers. The 28-year-old suspect is a resident of Karamba,Puttalam.
He was produced before the Mannar Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Silawathura police are investigating.
