Dialog, SLT block Naik’s ‘Peace TV’

Major cable TV operators in Sri Lanka, Dialog and Sri Lanka Telecom yesterday blocked controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik’s ‘Peace TV’, following the bomb blasts on Easter Sunday.

 India and Bangladesh had banned the channel as reports had suggested that the ISIS terror group recruiters used the channel to allegedly brainwash youth.

The controversial Islamic preacher Naik is being probed by Indian agencies since 2016 after the Centre banned his Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) organization for five years. Naik is being investigated investigated for suspected links with terror organizations or suspected links with terror organizations.
