Four suspects involved in the treasure hunting were arrested by the police.
The suspects were arrested while engaged in mining in a historical place in Urubokka area in Meloggamuwa, police stated.
Police also seized the mining equipment and other items from the possession of the suspects.
The suspects are residents of Galle and they were arrested yesterday evening, said the police.
The suspects were produced before the Morawaka Magistrate's Court and remanded till 14th of this month.
