Two remanded over water poisoning rumour

Two suspects, who had spread rumours that poison had been introduced into the water supply in the Bloemendhal area, were remanded till May 13 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Lochana Abeywickrama.

Modera Police informed court that they had spread rumours that poison had been introduced into the water supply by using a megaphone in the Bloemendhal mosque.

Police also stated that they recorded statements from the chief moulavi in the Bloemendhal mosque. Police filed this case under section 98 of the Police Ordinance.
