Special leave requested for absent public servants

The National Trade Union Federation (NUTF) has written to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe requesting to give special leave for public servants who could not report to work following the Easter Sunday attacks due to the unsafe environment in the country.

NUTF President Saman Rathnapriya said a considerable number of public servants could not report to work as there was an unsafe environment and public transport did not function properly. He requested to grant paid leave for seven days from April 21 for the public servants who could not report to work.

The letter has been copied to the Public Administration Minister and his Secretary.
