Attendance in Anuradhapura at 10 percent

Anuradhapura Government Agent R.M. Wanninayake said that school attendance in the district was at 10 percent when the second term began yesterday. He added that the police and the tri-forces were continuing search operations in the district.

Anuradhapura Superintendent of Police Thilina Hewarathna said that no incident was reported in the district during the 24 hours that followed the reopening of schools. He added that the Muslim community in the area was cooperative in the search operations.

Hewarathna said that troops, as well as the police, have been deployed at places of worship, bus terminals, and railway stations.
