Compensation for damaged properties

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed the relevant authorities to pay compensation for the damages caused to public and the private property as a result of the tense situation which prevailed in the Negombo area on Sunday evening.

The Prime Minister has instructed to pay compensation after assessing the damages.

Accordingly, the Office for Reparations under the Ministry of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs has taken immediate steps to assess the damages, the Prime Minister’s Office announced.
