Memorial Service for Chinese nationals killed in Easter Sunday terrorist attacks

Consul General of Sri Lanka in Guangzhou Priyangika Dharmasena attended the Memorial Service conducted by the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Guangzhou, in memory of the two Chinese nationals of their institutes who lost their lives in the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.

At this event, she met with the bereaved families, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing Zhang Yaping, Director of the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology Zhang Si and expressed her deepest condolences for the tragic demise of such learned professionals.

Director of the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, while appreciating the Consul General’s presence, informed that despite the death of two of their erudite staff under tragic circumstances, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the South China Institute of Oceanology hopes to continue and enhance relations between the two institutes and Sri Lanka.

Two wreaths were offered by the Sri Lankan Consulate at the Memorial Service.
