NTJ sympathiser in Bibile Education office suspended

The service of an ‘in-service advisor’ has been suspended following a tense situation at the Bibile Zonal Education Office yesterday morning.

The instructor who was suspended was previously arrested for allegedly having links to the National Thawheed Jamath, but later released on bail.

When he reported to work yesterday, all officers walked out and refrained from working. Following the incident, the Education Ministry of the Uva Provincial Council suspended him till the investigations are completed. The rest of workers at the Zonal Education Office resumed work afterwards.

Police and the Army had also carried out a search operation in the office premises.
