Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in Australia S Skandakumar hosted a farewell lunch at Canberra prior to returning to Colombo on the completion of his term in office.

The lunch was held at the Commonwealth club and attended by John Miller, chairman ACT Cricket, Ric Smith president Lords Taverners Australia and David Richards, former CEO Cricket Australia and first CEO of International Cricket Council (retd).

“David flew in from Melbourne just to attend it and return. It was great seeing him in particular as he was of great help to our cricket particularly in my time as secretary (Sri Lanka Cricket) and also on the Interim Committee when he was CEO of ICC,” said Skandakumar, a former Sri Lanka Cricket administrator and a stalwart of Tamil Union C&AC.

“John and Ric featured prominently in our first ever Test match at the Manuka Oval in Canberra in February this year.”
