Kavinda Ishwara – a fine all round display

Fourth year coloursman right hand bat and right arm off spinner Kavinda Ishwara excelled as an allrounder for his alma mater Siri Piyarathna Vidyalaya in the 2018 and 2019 cricket season. He scored 800 runs and claimed 76 wickets. He scored seven fifties with the top score of 84 runs versus Royal College Panadura and he had one ten wicket haul with 10 for 64 against Dudley Senanayake College and four five wicket hauls and the best being 8 for 113 versus St. Johns College Jaffna. He has another two years to represent his school.

He played for the under 17 division two team last year and they were the runner up to S. Thomas College Mt. Lavinia. Though they lost to Thomians he earned the Man of the Finals Award.

He played for the first eleven team in 2015 and 2016 and played in three Big Matches in 2017, 2018 and 1019. In 2017/18 cricket season he scored 620 runs and captured 35 wickets. In the under 17 division two tournament he was the highest run getter with 428 runs which included seven fifties. Also he scored a century for his school against the touring under 17 cricket team from England and this game was assigned to their school by the SLC and he bagged 8 for 80 runs also.
