The capacity of the Galapita Wewa has reduced as aquatic plants have consumed a considerable amount of water.

The farmers request authorities to clean the tank enabling them to cultivate during both the Yala and Maha seasons.

The farmers said the tank extends for 15 acres and 75 acres of paddy lands are cultivated with its water.

They said although they have informed the matter to the authorities, so far measures have not been taken to clean the tank.
