CEO Communication specialist and YKG Associates Managing Director and Lead Trainer, Yukthi K. Gunasekera urged Rotarians from across the world to support Sri Lanka by visiting the country.

Yukthi was addressing Rotary club leaders from over 200 countries and geographies on CEO Communication at this year’s world convention held in Hamburg, Germany. Called “CEO CONNECT: Best Communication Practices for Club Leaders”, Gunasekera’s training session was simultaneously interpreted in five languages: French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. It was also live-streamed to the worldwide community of Rotarians who could not attend the world convention in person – and had signed up for the facility.

In his speech, Yukthi screened a Lonely Planet video on Sri Lanka, said it was safe to travel to Sri Lanka at this time (highlighting the fact that no country is “safe” anymore, and that even the host country Germany had lifted its travel ban on Sri Lanka), and urged Rotarians to support Sri Lanka and her people by visiting his beautiful home country.

Yukthi’s presentation on CEO Communication was well received, as reflected by the questions and discussion that ensued. Immediately after the training session, a Rotarian from Germany wrote to Gunasekera, stating, “we have been at your amazing session today in Hamburg at the Convention. Thank you for sharing your deep insight into top level communication.”

Yukthi’s appeal to Rotarians to visit Sri Lanka too seems to have resonated with the audience, with a Rotarian from Nigeria pledging to Yukthi, immediately after the presentation, that he will visit Sri Lanka with his family and friends as soon as possible.

Reflecting on his presentation, Yukthi said, “this was certainly a high point in my career: to be of service to my home country at this critical time. In this respect, I wish to place on record my thanks to fellow Rotarian Sepalika Panagoda who urged me to include a statement on Sri Lanka. Indeed, to have promoted both Sri Lanka and CEO Communication at the same forum is a notable achievement for YKG and me.”
