Nathuwa Bari Minihek final show at Punchi Theatre

After an islandwide tour which ran from Colombo to Ampara and from Matara to Kilinochchi, Rajitha Dissanayake’s play Nathuwa Bari Minihek (A Man Much Needed) will see its final performance at the Namel – Malini Punchi Theatre on October 4.

Nethuwa Beri Minihek depicts a quest for lost power and love and revolves around the life and family of Jayantha, a wealthy Sinhala nationalist businessman. The recipient of 7 awards at the State Drama Festival 2017, including Best Play, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress, Nathuwa Bari Minihek has received much critical acclaim for its piercing look at the dynamic sociopolitical context of the past 5 years.

The play has also been a roaring commercial success over its 4-year, 144-show run, enthralling and enlightening audiences around Sri Lanka by holding up a mirror to contemporary society.

The cast of Nethuwa Bari Minihek comprises Dharmapriya Dias, Shyam Fernando, Nadeeshani Peliarachchi, Bimsara Premaratne, Pasan Ranaweera, Anuradha Mallawarachchi, Nalin Lusena, Charindra Chandrasena and Kasun Chathuranga.
