Royal Sports Club cricket team of Chavalakade won the Championship when they defeated the Veerathidal Sports Club cricket team by 37 runs in the finals of the limited 20 over’s friendly hardball cricket tournament conducted by Royal Sports Club, Chavalakade at the Al-Thajun school play grounds, 6th Colony in Chavalakade recently.
This match was played to mark the introduction of new jerseys to Royal Sports Club sponsored by the QATACO welding shop and it was organized by the Royal Sports Club President A.M.Basheer.
Royal Sports Club cricket team batted first and scored 181 runs in their allocated 20 over for loss of nine wickets. In reply Veerathidal Sports Club SC cricket Team scored 144 runs in their 19.4 overs being all out. Former Eastern Provincial Councilor K.M.Jawath participated as the chief guest at the award ceremony.
Royal Sports Club President and QATACO welding shop Managing Director A.M.Basheer, Global Import and Export Trading Company Proprietor A.M.Janees, Business Magnets M.Majeed and J.M.Fahim, Social Services Officer A.L.Faizath, Royal SC football team former president M.I.Junaideen, Mighty Warriors SC President M.H.M.Kabeer, Royal SC President A.M.Basheer and prominent people of the area were all present and awarded the trophy to winning team and players.
