A man who was found guilty for hacking a person to death was yesterday sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court.
The case was taken up before the Colombo High Court Judge Champa Janaki Rajaratne and following a lengthy trial the High Court Judge observed that the prosecution has proved its case beyond reasonable doubts.
The accused Mohammed Naushad is a resident of Jinthupitiya.
The Attorney General had filed an indictment against the accused for stabbing a man to death with a knife in twenty seven places of his body on April 14, 2002, in the Jinthupitiya area.
