Kerawalapitiya Industrial Estate to be developed under four lanes

The Kerawalapitiya Industrial Estate Road will be developed under four lanes, which is an access road to the Expressway where many local and foreign investor industries are located.

State Minister for Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure Nimal Lanza along with relevant officials went on an inspection tour of the road on October 3 on the instructions of the Chief of the Presidential Task Force on Economic Rejuvenation Basil Rajapaksa in line with the “Vision of Prosperity and Splendour” National Policy Framework.

State Minister Nimal Lansa said it was important to provide infrastructure, including roads, to retain local and foreign investors in the country.

Road Development Authority officials were instructed to initiate development work which would make it viable for industrialists thus attracting new investors.

Factories will be located on both sides of the road covering a distance of 2 kms and the relevant departments with easy access to heavy vehicles.

Roads and Highways Ministry Secretary Prof. Ranjith Dissanayake and other officials were also present.
