Nine COVID-19 positive cases in Jaffna

Nine new COVID-19 patients have been identified from various parts of the Jaffna District yesterday, said Jaffna Teaching Hospital Director Dr. P. Sathyamoorthy.

He said 285 residents of several areas in Jaffna had undergone PCR tests. Test reports identified these nine new patients. He said all patients found in Jaffna were from quarantine centres. In addition to the main quarantine centre in Jaffna, there are 23 other quarantine centres in the district in which 178 persons are quarantined.

In addition to the six COVID-19 patients identified earlier in the Mannar District, four other new patients have been found and it has been revealed that they are employees of a church and some other places in Mannar.
