Five COVID-19 patients recovered

Five more individuals recovered from COVID-19 bringing the total recoveries in the country to 3385, the Epidemiology Unit confirmed.
According to the epidemiology unit there are only 1,846 active cases being treated in various hospitals across the country.
The total count of positive coronavirus cases found in Sri Lanka currently sits at 5,244.

With the recovery of five more patients that were infected with COVID-19, the number of recoveries has increased to 3,385, Epidemiology of the Health Ministry said.

The total number of COVID-19 patients stands at 5,224 with 74 persons reported on Thursday, out of which 1,839 patients are still receiving treatment at 16 hospitals.

Among 74 cases were 46 associates of Minuwangoda apparel factory workers, 22 identified while at quarantine centres.

Another 316 suspected of being infected with the virus are under observation.

Meanwhile, Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva said that the Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster registered 110 more positive cases today.

Three of them have been identified as apparel factory workers and contacts who are in quarantine centers. The remaining 58 are contacts of COVID-19 positive patients from the cluster.

Accordingly, the total number of COVID-19 cases reported from the Minuwangoda cluster has increased to 1,850.
