Shakthi Udara Jayathilake of Rajasinghe Central College Hanwella passed the 100 wicket milestone this season of the Under 19 Division III inter - School Cricket (two day) tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association.

He was the leading wicket taker in the Division three tournament. 17 year old left arm leg spinner Shakthi Udara Jayathilake took 114 wickets for 789 runs in nine matches. He claimed 17 five wicket hauls in an innings and nine match bags of 10 wickets

His best bowling performance in an innings was 8 wickets for 38 runs against Ananda Maithriya National School Balangoda. His best bowling performance in a match was against Prince College Ratnapura. wheh he claimed 14 wickets for 75 runs. He has scored 361 runs with 3 half centuries this season.

He commenced his school cricket career as a left arm medium paceman in under 13 age limit at St. John’s Bosco College Hanwella in 2014 under coach Dimuthu Jayalath. He represented for two years the same school in 2014 and 2015.

Shakthi Udara joined Rajasinghe Central College Hanwella and coach H. Lilaj Priyankara changed his bowling action to left arm leg spin. He represented school under 15 team in 2017. Rajasinghe Central qualified for the semi final in division two tournament. He claimed 58 wickets in 11 matches and he was the leading wicket taker and he scored over 200 runs in the

same season. He represented Colombo district (Central) team in the under 15 Prima champions trophy. He represented champion Western province (Central) team in the inter provincial tournament.

He represented college first XI team in the season of 2017/2018. He went on the champion Under 15 Sri Lanka Schools teams tour of Malaysia for the “Thuanku Jaffar Trophy” in 2018. He represented school first XI team as a second year player and took 58 wickets in eight matches in 2018/2019 season. Rajasinghe Central entered the quarter finals in the tournament. He owes his success to Principal Jagath Priyashantha, former master in charges Dharma Sri Ranawaka (St. John’s Bosco), Rohana Wijetunge, Keerthi Karunaratne, Kalamsiri and presently I.H. Samson, his first coach Dimuthu Jayalath (St. John’s Bosco), presently Lilaj Priyankara (Head coach), Chathura Nadeesha (Asst. coach), former sports teacher H.G. Thusitha, and present sports teacher Jayalal Ratnasooriya,
