A carcass of a fishing cat with injuries was found by the Dimbula Pathana Police area on Saturday (17). The carcass was found on a rocky plateau in a tea estate called “Kelly” near the Nawalapitiya - Thalawakelle main road in the Dimbula Pathana police division. The residents of the area had informed the estate administration and they had informed the police. Nuwara Eliya Wildlife officers revealed that there were several injuries in the animal’s body. It is suspected that this animal was killed.The carcass was taken to the Nuwara Eliya Wildlife Office for the autopsy. Picture by Chandana Jayaweera.
