The funeral of underworld figure Makandure Madush, who was shot dead Tuesday in a crossfire between Police and other underworld members, was held at the Godigamuwa Cemetery, Maharagama, yesterday.
The deceased’s lawyer has called for an investigation into Madush’s death. Madush was with two Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) officers at the time he was shot at a flat in the Maligawatta Housing Scheme. He had visited that location under the protection of the CCD.
Makandure Madush’s body was kept at his legal wife’s home, which was later taken from there to the home of a mistress of his at Pamunuwa, with the consent of Madush’s legal wife.
