PCR tests to be intensified in Kekanadura

The Kekanadura Office of the Medical Officer of Health has initiated measures to intensify PCR tests for COVID-19 in the area.

According to Kekanadura MOH Dr. Chandika Ranagala, 180 PCR tests have been carried out in the area and the results of 120 PCR tests have been received by now; the ones received are all negative for the virus. Results of the remaining 60 are yet to be come in, health officials said.

In the course of these investigations, fishmongers, three-wheeler drivers, traders, businessmen, and members of the divisional community have tested for the Coronavirus. These tests would be coninued further, health officials stated.

Protecting the from the coronavirus is the primary objective of all these endeavours, Kekanadura MOH Dr. Chandika Ranagala added. On instructions of Dr. Ranagala and under the supervision of SPHI Anura Kodagoda, all PHIs and other health officials attached to Kekanadura Office of the Medical Officer of Health participated in these investigation activities.
