The outbreak of Covid-19 has had an impact on the movement of people across the world, affecting many popular tourist attractions. Demodara railway station, one of the tourist hotspots, is now deserted. The railway station located 912.5 metres above sea level is notable for its spiral rail line at this location, popularly known as the ‘Demodara Loop’. The Akkaraipattu Police conducted an awareness programme on the theme, “Let’s wear the masks properly at all times,” on Thursday morning at the Akkaraipattu Roundabout. Ampara Senior Superintendent of Police R.M.D.J.Ratnayake inaugurated the campaign by pasting a sticker in a bus. Akkaraipattu OIC M.S.P.Wijethunge and Transport Division OIC P.T.Nazeer, ASP Predeep Kumara and Police Officers participated. The Police Transport Division was also opened at the ceremony.
