Marassana shops closed after travelling fishmonger tests positive for COVID-19

Under the instructions of the Patha Hewaheta Medical Officer of Health, authorities in Marassana have decided to close all shops in the city indefinitely after a travelling fishmonger was diagnosed with the COVID-19, last Sunday.

The fishmonger has been distributing fish in areas such as Thalathuoya, Marassana, Kolabissa, Maussawa, Pasgama, Moragolla, Pananwala, Mudunekade, Butawatta, and Ampitiya during the past few days. It was also revealed that he had bought fish from the Peliyagoda fish market.

Authorities have asked those who have come in contact with him to self-isolate.
