Buddha Pooja, Dhamma Sermon in Washington

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Washington D.C. organised a Buddha Pooja and Dhamma Sermon on October 30 at the Embassy to coincide with the Vap Poya Day, which marks the end of Vas (Rainy Retreat), beginning from Esala to Vap.

The Buddha Pooja was conducted by Judiciary Prelate and Chief Incumbent of Maryland Buddhist Vihara Ven. Katugastota Uparatana Nayaka Thera, while the Dhamma Sermon was delivered by Ven. Nedagamuwe Pannaloka Thera.

Ven. Katugastota Uparatana Nayaka Thera invoked blessings on the people of Sri Lanka to overcome the pandemic in the country. Ven. Nedagamuwe Pannaloka Thera highlighted the importance and significant meritorious events took place on the occasion of Vap Poya day. An almsgiving to the Maha Sangha took place at the Maryland Buddhist Vihara thereafter.
