More PCR tests conducted on Horana factory workers

Out of 440 PCR tests carried out on Monday at a well-known garment factory in Horana, 250 reports were received yesterday and according to them, 23 new COVID-19 patients have been discovered, Horana Medical Officer of Health Dr. Chanaka Mallikarachchi said.

"At present, 62 factory patients have been reported to the Horana Medical Officer of Health from this factory and areas around Horana," he added.

"Another 600 people were also subjected to PCR tests yesterday (04) while a total of 1,339 PCR tests have been carried out on factory employees. The office of Regional Director of Health-Kalutara, the Epidemiology Unit, the Ministry of Health, the Regional COVID Committee, the Horana Medical Officer of Health and the administration of the factory are taking all possible steps to ensure the safety of its employees and their associates and future decisions will be taken regarding the results based on other PCR tests also the pattern of patients reporting," Dr. Chanaka Mallikarachchi added.
