‘Fish worth Rs.5 million to go to waste in Tangalle’

Fishermen in Tangalle said their livelihoods have been threatened as they have been unable to sell their fish due to the second wave of the coronavirus in the country. Fish worth around Rs.5 million would go to waste due to the issue, they added.

About 50 multi-day fishing boats have been moored at the Tangalle Harbour with fish. However, fishermen have been unable to sell their goods as people have stopped consuming fish and no traders buying fish.
