Four more COVID cases in Balapitiya

Four family members of Balapitiya who have been on self-quarantine tested COVID-19 positive following their second PCR test yesterday, Galle District Regional Epidemiologist Venura K. Singarachchi said.

They are residents of Katuwila, Balapitiya in Ahungalla. It was confirmed that they had got the disease with the disease from the Colombo Dockyard cluster, the Epidemiologist said.

A woman of the family had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier and had been sent to the Dr. Neville Fernando Hospital. Her family members had been instructed to be quarantined following the first PCR test on them. However, they tested positive with the second PCR, Dr. Venura said.

A child, grandmother, grandfather and an uncle of the family had been infected with the virus. The two women patients have been sent to the Hambantota Hospital and the grandmother and the child have been sent to the Kamburugamuwa Hospital, the Epidemiologist said.
