Public service will be renewed under President’s concept – State Minister Duminda

“The public service will be renewed with the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s new programme, in which those who failed O/L will be given government jobs,” Solar Power, Wind and Hydro Power Generations Project Development State Minister Duminda Dissanayake said.

The State Minister was presenting appointment letters to a group of trainees in Anuradhapura recently in accordance with the concept of creating a 'poverty free Sri Lanka' stated in the 'Vision of Prosperity' Policy Statement.

“Out of the 34,818 candidates selected for the first phase, appointment letters were presented to 299 persons in the Anuradhapura District with the participation of State Minister Duminda Dissanayake at the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Head Office in Anuradhapura recently. State Minister Duminda Dissanayake said that the President has decided to provide jobs to those who do not have the minimum qualifications for employments, after he became the President.

“Every government spoke of giving jobs to those who were qualified. You too have come to this house and handed over the applications, saying that I do not have the basic qualifications, because for so long we have been talking about choosing those with minimum qualifications for jobs, but after Gotabaya Rajapaksa became the President, his goal was to provide 100,000 government jobs for those who have failed O/L who are not qualified for a government jobs,” State Minister said.

“If this programme had not been implemented, these people would never get a job in the government. No matter where they go, in the end it becomes a dream for them to get a government job,” State Minister Dissanayake said.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has formulated the programme to help young people who have passed A/L and O/L. Today they have the privilege of getting a government job, State Minister said.

“We are grateful to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for his leadership in uplifting the poor families and making them government employees,” the State Minister said.
