Four more test COVID positive from Keells

Four more employees working at the Keells Supermarkets in Thimbirigasyaya and the Havelock Road stores tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, Keells Supermarkets said in a statement.

Operations at the Thimibirigasyaya and Havelock Road stores have been temporarily halted and the stores have been closed for sanitisation, the statement said.

“The stores will be re-opened following the recommended sanitisation by the Ministry of Health Epidemiology Unit and the approval by the Public Health Inspectors is given,” the statement said.

“The health safety of our customers and team members is of utmost importance to us. The Keells supermarkets have maintained standard safety processes from the onset of the pandemic and will continue to do so. As a further precautionary measure, random PCR tests on employees began at the early stages of the second wave ensuring any impact is minimised and the spread of the virus reduced,” the statement added.

“All team members that have come into direct contact with the infected persons will undergo PCR tests whilst also being self-quarantined for 14 days,” the statement noted.
